first robotics is an international company that runs robotics competitions for school kids, elementary- through high school-age. first robotics competition, the high school level, holds a build season every year for teams to devise a strategy and build a robot to play that year's game. then they hold regional and district competitions, the winners of which go to championships in houston, texas. it's the closest a high schooler can get to working in the engineering industry without taking on an internship, and also happens to be really, really fun.
